Working at Heights

Working at Heights training-Ladder & Fall Arrest Training

Ashview Consultants instructors are all certified/ trained by Bacoz-Dalloz registered training organisations. Bacoz-Dalloz are part of the Miller-Troll Group who are one of the world leaders in supplying working at height equipment.

In Ireland around 50% of construction accidents are related to working at heights, so as you can see working at any height is considered a high risk activity!! So the duty is on each employer to ensure that any employee working at heights or using working at height equipment should be adequately trained. Ashview Consultants provide our clients with specific training tailored to their activities.

What is included within the Working at Heights course?

Our Working at Heights Training Course includes the following:

  • DVD & laptop/ projector presentation
  • Working at Height training notes for participants
  • Question & answers session
  • Practical demonstration involving the selection, inspection & fitting of fall arrest equipment, this would also include the safe use of ladders
  • Working at Heights attendance certificates which are valid for a period of 3 years.

Course Information: Duration 2-3 hours , maximum class of 12 & delivered on your premises.

  • Selection of Appropriate Equipment for Working at Heights
  • Inspection of Working at Height Equipment – Harness & Ladders
  • Fitting & Wearing of Harness
  • Anchor Points & Intermeditery Connection Devices
  • Working at Heights Specifications/ Calculations & Fall Distances
  • Rescue Procedures
  • Assessment & Practical Examination

Certification

On successfully completeing the course Ashview Consultants will issue the operative with a competency certificate.

Manual Handling

Aim:

Content:

  • Introduction
  • Legislation pertaining to Manual Handling
  • Physiology & Anatomy
  • Manual Handling Risk Assessments
  • Proper lifting techniques

Demonstration & practical duration: ½ day – groups & individuals catered for Assessment: Theory & Practical Examination Certification: On successful completion candidates will be awarded with a Ashview Consultants Certificate.

Abrasive Wheel Training

Ashview Consultants Abrasive Wheel Course is based our experience in the industry and information gained from ROSPA Abrasive Wheel instructors course. We have developed this training course into a comprehensive course and one of the best in the industry in Ireland.

This Abrasive Wheels course is intended for operators with a responsibility for the mounting, operation and maintenance of Abrasive Wheels and is designed to ensure compliance with the following legislation:

Safety In Industry (Abrasive Wheels) Regulations S.I. 30 1982

Safety, Health & Welfare At Work Act 2005

Safety, Health & Welfare At Work (Construction) Regulations 2006

Safety, Health & Welfare At Work (General Applications) Regulations 2007

What is an Abrasive Wheel- it’s a wheel, cylinder, disc or cone which, whether or not any other material is comprised in it, consists of abrasive particles held together by mineral, metallic or organic bonds, whether natural or artificial ?
